Quote from: MIL-TFP-41 on February 03, 2026, 01:26 PMYea looks like my local MLC guys are not affiliated with Mastercam anymore. Too bad, they were really responsive and good to work with. I have not had the same experience with the Mothership.

Attention Mothership. Prove me wrong, please.
As of a couple weeks ago Patrick still was... I'll see him tomorrow.

So, I wonder when eMastercam is going to get shut down? I'd imagine it's only a matter of time.

Mastercam's forum could contain as much good info as eMastercam... in 20 years.

Does anyone know if the plan is to leave these places to continue running as they had in the past or is this going to be an absorbing of these large resellers?
I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

You sure about that Willis?
Granted.... last time I logged in at Ivory Central would have been prolly 2018, but it was deadder than a Dodo on dead Dodo day.
So unless there's been an influx of mucho posting regarding materials, methodology, machine purchasing choices, control options, fault finding, CAD software help and model creation, CAM programming, Post processor modifications etc, with valid input from the people with "the right stuff", I canny see shit captain!

We're seeing some of that go on here with local tool companies.  It sucks because their service has gone to shit since being bought out.

It does appear they are Mastercam employees now. I am optimistic that it will work out

Admittedly, I don't log in to the official forum nearly as often as I used to either. But I'd say 70-80% of topics there are bug reports / complaints about MC26. 10% are people genuinely asking for help. And 10% are that db guy making (how do I put this nicely?) *snide* comments.

It's mostly just trying to get the mother blob to see what a shitshow they've created, and them saying "we can't replicate that, can you send a file?' or "we can replicate that, it has been logged as R-xxxx, and will be looked into by the product owner."  Then two months or two years later someone will ask for an update and they will get a response "it will be fixed in a future release, but will not make it into this year's version as the development cycle is closed."

Sadly, this is way too accurate. You nailed it.

If I pay for the software but the feature I use is broken, and then I am told I need to pay more money to get the update that will fix the software, and then I pay and get the new version and it is still broken, at what point do we get to invoke the lemon law?

I'm talking about ALL the information contained there (eMastercam) from it's beginning. I mean there's stuff that was posed early on that is stil relevant.
