Aluminum supply and volatile prices

Just got a quote for some aluminum and they now have a disclaimer at the bottom of the quote:
"Due to volatile prices of aluminum, this quote is only good for 7 days"
Prices have about doubled. Fun times ahead.

We've had several vendors stating pricing only good for 24 hours.  So far haven't seen them not honoring the price at a later date, but I guess they are covering themselves in case of violent price shifts.

I've got about 500lbs of scrap aluminum sitting in my backyard just waiting until that price spikes.

And yea, the majority of our work is 6061. I old the Boss a year ago to stock up.

That and the supply chain issues.

We make printer rollers for Mass Customers.

I also warned him about the availability of Rubber Products.

Sure enough most of it is 8 weeks out IF!!

And $$$prices are skyrocketing....But Hey!!! Gas is down $ 2 cents... Thanks Joe.
