Greenberg was a Tax Collector in the State of Florida. It stands to reason they at least started off with a professional relationship.

The panel (House Committee) also subpoenaed Mr. Greenberg for documents he had related to Mr. Gaetz, some of which surfaced in a related civil suit that was later dropped.

There's 2 reasons civil suitts get dropped; 1) Settled. And there is no indication that is what happened. 2) The suit is bovine excrement. The threshold for guilty in a civil suit is MUCH lower than a criminal suit.

In response to questions about the subpoena, Mr. Scheller (Greenberg's lawyer) refused to say what documents may have been handed over but said: "Mr. Greenberg has fully responded to all congressional requests."

He did not have to answer with a high degree of specificity, he could have given a general "electronic transactions", and a few other related items and left it that. That woudl ensure Mr. Gaetz get a fair trial (should it come to that), but he didn't. Greenberg could take the 5th and still claim "[Greenberg]...has fully responded to all congressional requests."

I'm not willing to jump to guilty ESPECIALLY since things were dropped in the timefram they wer dropped. I'd be willing ot wager the "ethics" committee was going to drop nothing but selacious heresay for the sole purpose of publicly humiliating him.

If he did in fact engage in sex acts with a minor he should absolutely be prosecuted. If the 17 year-old presented herself as an adult (i.e. yes I'm 18), it changes things... but only a little.

The BIG problem I see here in this case with regard to guilt or innocence is;
1) Local law enforcement failed to make an arrest
2) Federal Law Enforcement failed to make an arrest
3) Local DA's failed to charge Mr. Gaetz
4) Local DA's failed to indict Mr. Gaetz
5) Federal DOJ failed to charge Mr. Gaetz
6) Federal DOJ failed to indict Mr. Gaetz

I believe that if he were guilty of the crimes in which you say he's guilty of, at the very least one of the above would be true.

The only thing I'm certain of Mr. Gaetz is guilty of at this moment in time is EXTREMELY poor judgement. If more comes to light, I'm more than happy to fire up the wood chipper.
