On a scale of 1 to 10, the stress level for that job is about a 1,000,000,000

Taken from a comment section so take it for what it's worth:

"Former military helicopter pilot.  This was the helicopter's fault.  Unfortunately in the Army officers do not get to fly very much. This was an annual check ride with most likely a seeing eye warrant for the officer pilot.
The other problem is mixing IFR and VFR traffic. DCA and the FAA really need to revise the helo corridor that flies through DCA.  As much as I despise DEI,  I think you will find this turs out to be a lack of currency for the pilot and having the wrong aircraft in sight"

So far @Jeff... that seems to be the near unanimous concensus among military rotorcraft aviators I've been reading contributions from.

Again, comments so there's that.
Another point I'm reading often is that DC airspace is CROWDED. Between commercial, general, and military aviation, landings are coming in about every 90sec.

One guy that claimed to be a pilot in the same affected unit and ran the same training sortie said anything higher than the treetops over there is "dangerous AF".

Has anyone considered the helicopter pilot was suicidal? Looks like he flew right into jet.

Apparently it was a she. However we don't officially know who was at the controls at that time. But for some strange reason they haven't released the actual identity of the third person on board. Would they be needing to scrub some info beforehand?

Earlier they said she was the copilot

Or next of kin has not been notified yet. If her husband is in the military, and on a mission, it's entirely possible/likely that it could take days to get word to him.

One of my Eagle Scouts is deployed (contrary to what that whore said about no troops being deployed). I had to get an emergency message to him in November and it took 40 something hours to reach him. I know his MOS, I don't ask where or what he's doing. But deep down I know where he is and frankly I was surprised we got hold of him as soon as we did.

I read that it was a training flight
To qualify for flight pay you have to fly a certain number of hours every year and get a certain number of hours of training.

If that was the case, the co pilot would have been someone who's regular duties did not involve flying
and they were doing their annual training to stay qualified for flight pay.

I also read that military helicopter's maximum altitude over the Potomac River was 200ft and the
collision occurred at 300 ft.

If they know who was actually flying the helicopter they have not released that info to the public yet.

That's always a possibility, but I'd imagine the chances of that are very low.
