"...Illegally shutting down entire departments..."

See, that's where they are dead wrong. POTUS CAN shut down entire departments for any reason he deems necessary.

POTUS CANNOT however fire "individuals" within any department that are not serving at his pleasure (appointments and such) BECAUSE he is the CEO of The Executive Branch. Individuals are for the most part protected... as they should be.

Lefty talking points, and they're ALL parroting them.
Weird how all of a sudden they're all saying the same thing isn't it? Like there isn't an independent thought among them.
Even my close friend who lives overseas is saying the same things almost verbatim.

And none of these were brought up before the election when Doge was announced and Musk/Vivek was said to lead it.

Conflict of interest!
blah blah blah

Anyone in here an expert (or even educated) in constitutional law? This was a brave search result -

"Can President Shut Down Departments
The President of the United States does not have the unilateral authority to shut down entire government departments. According to the U.S. Constitution, Congress has the power to establish departments and agencies, determine their internal organization, and confirm the appointment of their top leaders. The President manages the conduct of executive branch offices but cannot unilaterally abolish or shut down departments."

edit:
David A. Super's research focuses on Administrative Law, Constitutional Law, Legislation (including the federal budget), Local Government Law, and Public Welfare Law.
We speak with David Super professor of law and economics at Georgetown Law.

And why do I have a feeling that it's not going to matter soon?

Who needs a congress anyway?   :D

Obama was a "Constitutional Law Professor" and look where that shit show go us.

:coffee:

Later tonight I'll pull the applicable sections of The Constitution and post them. They are written in plain English mostly, on occasion you may need to consult a "fringe document" like a dictionary or more specifically a period specific dictionary as the meanings of many words have changed between then and now.

The post I made is actually from two separate sources.

One is a brave search which scrapes multiple sites to compile an answer that is no better than the sites it's scraping.

The second is an interview from the Law Professor.

I've listened to and watched several (I think 4 now) podcasts or videos from either Constitutional Law, dare I say, experts? One I heard of on Ben Shaprios podcast years ago. They've all said the same thing. One of the four I listened to is just a journalist that has a degree in 'master of public policy' (redundant?) who is super smart and typically not partisan.  He also said the same thing.

I'm kinda having to rely on people who know better than I do.

QuoteFor the last four years before President Trump's inauguration we had no democracy.

Joe Biden was a puppet in charge of nothing. The corporate media and Democrat Party engaged in a monstrous coverup to conceal this now indisputable truth.

Our government was instead run by unelected bureaucrats who ruthlessly weaponized state power against their political enemies, engineered mass illegal voting in our elections, installed a draconian censorship regime, instituted a colossal system of state-sponsored racial discrimination, orchestrated a vast border invasion to try to permanently alter the balance of power, trafficked half a million children across the border, allowed criminals to freely terrorize our citizens, and raided the treasury to fund a political army of marxist radicals in a bid for permanent control over US institutions.

President Trump saved America and democracy itself.

I agree with this
