I might not be sure what I'm looking for.  I've been going to an oncologist since 2015 and I don't see anything about a PSA test there either.

It's a simple stand alone blood test.

Ah. Probably because he's a specialist. A General practitioner family type doctor would order the PSA along with a bunch of other standard tests when you get your annual check up.

I just looked.. I've never had a PSA test.  Maybe I should request one?

And it's much more pleasant than the old digital exam!   Thank God I only had one of those...

I'm in my mid 50's and haven't had one of those yet.  I've only had a primary care physician for a year now so I'm sure I'm going to start getting hounded about it soon.

I tried to talk my girlfriend in to doing a home exam so I didn't have to get it done at the Doctor but she wasn't too receptive of the idea.

Dude, you're lucky. I got the 'ol two finger salute before I was 40 because my doctor at the time knew that the only reason I was there for a physical was because my then girlfriend dragged me there, and he knew it might be decades before he'd see me again. (He was right)

Butt seriously, get a PSA test. It's something they can check with simple bloodwork and isn't something to be overlooked, especially at our age.
