QuoteI got the yard stick out to measure all the snow we're supposed to get. Here is the 4AM total...

I don't know what your forecast said but ours said the snow wasn't even supposed to start until sometime this morning. My phone said it was 37 degrees when I got up at 4AM.

Quote from: Tim Johnson on February 02, 2022, 07:13 AMThat's about what we got. The snow was coming out of the northwest so normally that means the snow is about done. I haven't looked outside since I got here.

They originally said the storm was coming from the Pacific Northwest but if you look at the radar, it's going from southwest to northeast and we're in the path until the whole storm passes through.

Warm air from the Gulf with moisture levels like that of a springtime storm system is moving north and getting slammed into by a cold front from the northwest.

Perfect setup for 2 straight days of decent snowfall. If not for that cold front we'd all be getting 2-3" of rain.

You don't have to snow blow and shovel rain.

Up to about a foot so far. Wind is picking up. Took me an hour and a half to plow with our big tractor. Wish I had one with a cab.

No, the rain sits on the frozen ground and later freezes solid making excellent if unexpected skating rinks for you to walk on or better yet drive over.

so how is everyone with the snow? I'm 28 miles east of Cleveland and not horrible, but i believe the worst is yet to come.

Stopped snowing around here, norther Indiana, last night. We have about a foot.

Wind didn't pick up as much as they said it would so drifting wasn't terrible.

I'm hearing that we got 5 inches. It doesn't look like much. All the water from the rain yesterday likely got frozen underneath the snow last night. I stayed home today. It's not worth making the 45 minute highway drive (on a good day). Looking at the radar now, it looks like the storm line moved south, with only the edge of it passing through our area. Cool!

Never heard of Him.

We ended up with about an inch of sleet and freezing rain with an inch of snow on top. That shuts county down.
