So I'm just dipping my toes into the mill-turn world and playing with a part.
Can I not have regular vertical mill groups and the mill turn stuff in the same file?
Ever since I added a new mill toolpath group outside of the lathe mill-turn, I'm unable to access the mill-turn group.

You can but you have to change the toolpath arrow to that group to access into that group. With MT having different machine groups in a file can be done, but I don't recommend it.

So you're saying that it's best to keep regular files separate from mill turn files?

Your call, but between al the extra planes and the WCS process that uses the Spindle Nose and not the part for MT what a difficult task it becomes managing a file with MT inside of a multi operation part. One customer has 12 different machining operation on a part. 6 individual MT machining operations all broke out into separate files.
