FYI, it will fail if you have Varco Reports installed.

Hi,

Our application and Mastercam worked together well for many versions, starting with X4 until recently. After a Mastercam Update was installed users just ran our installer again to restore our files that the Mastercam Update overwrote.

For recent versions there has sometimes been a conflict when installing Mastercam Updates. To deal with this I added these options to our installer as shown in the screenshot below.

Before installing the Mastercam Update you would run the installer again and select the option shown, "Restore Mastercam Reports Viewer":
Then install the Mastercam Update.

And finally run the Varco Reports installer again and select the option "Restore Varco Reports Viewer".

If this was not done and you try to install a Mastercam Update, the Update may fail to complete.

To address this, run the installer for Mastercam Update 1 and select the Repair option. Open Mastercam, go to Help > About and see if the Update was installed. If not, do the install for the Update again.

We are working with CNC on a better solution for this.

Anyone else getting 'unable to regenerate planes' errors after this update?  I'm having issues with a few files.

They open and *seem* to still function ok but I didn't get this error before.  Not sure if it's the update or 2024 in general.

I've had a couple of cases of helix toolpaths refusing to regen.
The problem was an error in updating the Control Definition of a couple of posts.
Helix support on the Arcs page was disabled. Once I set it correctly the operations
regened correctly.
I mass updated all my machine and control defs using an early Tech Preview version
That may have been a mistake.

I re-opened the 2023 version of the file and it opens in 2023 no problem. If I open the 2023 file, or the updated 2024 file inside of 2024, I get the plane errors.
