I don't get it-since when does selling a competing product explain or justify "hate"? Didja shoot someone's dog or run off with their wife? Inquiring minds want to know....

Hahaha, well, maybe dislike me intensely. Its a longish story, and the short version is, "tried to help, Castle at Tolland came to the party, reseller felt threatened, told lies to the Castle at Tolland, and I got shat on".

That was before I got on board with a competing product. And what encouraged me to do so :)

Oh boy-with friends like that, who needs enemies?

I'm glad it seems to have worked out well nonetheless!

Its been a while since I plugged the hasp in :)

Well, CNC Software and the people who hate you are no more.
and I'll bet your old reseller will be looking for a new  scam  line of work soon too  ::)

You've outlasted them all and can piss on their graves if that's how you roll

Hahaha, I like the way gcode sums up things :)

Nah, I just carry on and do my thing. All jokes aside, there are/were some really good people at CNC Software. A few good ones are still there, as far as I know, and a lot of good ones have left, or were ousted.

A couple of them tried to convince me to stay on board, but it couldnt happen with that reseller still holding ground. I've heard there is an alternative for customers down here now, but it seems to be too little, too late. And if the assimilation is to continue world wide, it really makes no difference.

I've been on Cimquest's mailing list for a while.
Today I got this email

QuoteDear Cimquest Community,

I hope this message finds you well. Having been with Cimquest for 26 years, I am excited to share some important updates and reflections with you.

As many of you know, Cimquest was acquired by Mastercam, owned by Sandvik, about a year ago. Recently, I have taken on the responsibility of overseeing all our 3D Printing and 3D Scanning business. This transition means that starting February 1st, 2025, all communications related to Mastercam—including product offerings, training, subscriptions, maintenance, post processors, and marketing—will be managed directly through Mastercam Corporate and Mastercam.com. Consequently, Mastercam content will be removed from the Cimquest website. This change aims to streamline your access to the latest updates and resources.

I'm actually starting to wonder if Sandvik will spin these entities  with ancillary work,  off on their own.

I emailed  Postability yesterday about upgrading a post/machine sim to support a right angle head
I sent the email to *** @Postability.com
The reply came from *** @Mastercam.com
This must have been a recent development.
All the downloads are gone from the Postability site, but I could not find them on the
Mastercam download pages.
I wonder if Postability will be assimilated to the point there is no such thing as a Postability post?

If as we see everything else is becoming "Mastercam" it only makes sense that Postability will be "Mastercam"

The free Postability posts are/were very good. The Okuma ones notably. I wonder if they have disappeared, or if they will become part of the Mastercam product.

I used those posts to create plenty of customised posts for customers quite a few years ago, and some are still going strong today.
