I have a somewhat intricate job with multiple operations and custom work planes on a 4th axis.
What is the best way to spin the part around without messing up those planes?

gcode

Rotate your WCS plane
If it's a VMC you'll want to rotate about X
An HMC would rotate about Z

I did that but my custom work planes still get messed up.
I just have to go correct them one by one.

Have you tried linking the planes together?

They get "messed up" , what happens exactly?

In MAstercam 2022 there is the new parent/child relationship for planes, i think that might be the best solution?

The work plane no longer follows the parts geometry.

I have not.
I'll see if I can in 2020.

have you considered turning the machine around?

Flycut

#10
The machine is against a wall.
If I turn it around there won't be enough room to get in there and load it.

The plane linking was added in 2022 unfortunately.

OK then, have you considered turning the whole building around?   :harhar:

You need to put a patio door into the building.
Great for the summer!

OK, so now he has to buy a Patio too?
