QuoteNearly 10,000 more people than usual have died in the past four months from non-Covid reasons, as experts called for an urgent government inquiry into whether the deaths were preventable.

Nah. I can see why that can be the perception.

Millions have heart disease, cancer, diabetes (dangerous if uncontrolled), etc. There's a TON of cases where many did not get treatment (or early diagnosis) because they were afraid to "catch COVID at the Doctor's office". That's it. Not some conspiracy of the MRNA vaccine causing these deaths.

Think about it. We're talking enormous numbers. Someone, who in normal non-covid years, could have gotten the cancer discovered at a lower stage which has a high success rate of recovery in many cases - but waits a full year later or more and the stage progresses to 4: chances of survival drastically reduced.

Same for heart disease. Not the vaccine's fault or even COVID, but our crap ass diets. And I'm not taking about fats, but sugar. Americans scarfing down big servings of potatoes, woofing down breads, stuffing their faces with donuts, pastries, etc. Guzzling can(s!) of sugary drinks each day. Fast food has thrived during the pandemic. Americans worrying by wearing masks, washing hands, yet chow down that garbage food loaded with sugar and salt (and the bad fats).

The article mentions the main causes of increased deaths are heart related and cancers. Bingo.

(Oh, and there's an estimated 7 1/2 million Americans who have undiagnosed diabetes. Walking time bombs as they continue their shit diets while their sugar levels are at dangerous levels. They'll say "I'm not diabetic", yet they have no clue what their blood sugar reading is and never heard of an a1c test.)

It's complicated, Robert.

The current health trajectory of America is not good. If we keep allowing big food and big pharma to buy and control the FDA and USDA we will see a point in the next few generations where the average lifespan drops down into the 60's.

Came out to 93. To be honest, I'm not worried about living into my 90's. I am more concerned with quality of life through my 50's, 60's and 70's. I want to be able to enjoy being active. I don't want to have to take handfuls of pills everyday to keep me alive but not healthy enough to do the things I enjoy.

How can a person gauge a quality of life without bacon? ;)

I doubt 60's, but good point Doug.

More research showing, for example, that the saturated fats found in milk, cheese, butter, and eggs are not the monster evil health hazard. Doesn't mean eat large portions, though. Moderate servings seem just fine, no increased cardiac related mortality levels. It's refined sugar and empty carbs that's the bigger issue, along with eating too much and eating again after short durations. But, we can agree to disagree (not you Doug, in general)

Meats are fine so long as we don't eat large portions 2 or 3 times each day. But yes, a vegetarian diet done wisely is very healthy. No debate there. As for me, I eat plenty of veggies but little to no fruits. Very modest portions of meat products. No milk (sugars), but cheese and sometimes eggs (no sugars).

Yes, we are over medicated as a nation which is pushed by Big Pharma, however, many need medications. A type 1 diabetic wouldn't fair well w/o insulin!

Our nation overall eats like crap. High sugar, high salt, high fat diets.

I solved my blood sugar issue with eating better. A1c was over 10 (246 avg.)! I did it w/o adding medication. Cut down calories and keep carbs well under 50 g per day. Readings normal now.

A host of people blame all sorts of conspiracy reasons why our nation suffers many preventable ailments/diseases, when the truth lies in looking at your plate of food.

Multiple studies find the proteins in milk/dairy to directly turn on cancer cell gene expression. I would call that a monster health hazard.

But yes, I do agree that the majority of health issues in our country are directly related to diet.

Dairy has also been shown to reduce certain cancers such as bladder and colorectal cancers.  so it is kind of a mixed bag. Also fermented dairy microbes show positive effects in gut health.
