I would never rumble with him.  I've known him since long before I started hanging out on EMC. I was just ball bustin.  :D

Our old yasnac i80 did.  Not sure if it was due to the machine it was on?  It was a Kitamura Mycenter 4.  The tool changers on those things are weird.

We're all getting old and the rumbles get pretty boring when everyone breaks for a nap between rounds

Remind me again why the t1 and m6 have to be on different lines?

Some badly set up okuma i worked with in 2012,
I figured they all were like that.
Those machines arent popular around these parts, mostly due to the controller not being Fanuc.
[/quote]

In older Okuma's if the T* that was being called was already pre-staged the control would alarm. On newer controls there is a parameter that overrides this. Most Okuma users have a custom macro for tool changes, often a G111 or G116 that handles all the logic for tool changes.

What machine needs them to be on separate lines?
I only put them on separate lines if I'm staging a tool while the current tool cuts the part.
T call at the beginning of the path and the M6 call at the end for the next tool.

I've been running Okumas since the mid-90's. I don't recall them ever requiring that.  Maybe there was some kind of special macro the machine was running that wouldn't accept it?

Yeah, Fanuc doesn't have that problem, see, Fanuc > Okuma  :harhar:

That is machine tool builder dependent. Many do not require that. Some require the M06 before the T. It just depends on how they've chosen to do ladder/PMC stuff.

One distinct advantage OSP has over FANUC, it only has to work with/for Okuma. FANUC OTOH... there are literally hundreds (if not thousands) of separate machine tool builders that use that control. All have their ideas on how stuff can/should be done. Okuma is Apple. FANUC is Android. Literally.

It wasn't fussy what # was in the spindle - she'd carry on....
