Quote from: Midwest on January 04, 2022, 12:47 PMMy wife got really sick in January B4 Covid was in the news, we both think she had it then. We both had it just B4 Labor Day 2021.

Me, too. Got really sick late DEC 2019. Had all the symptoms of covid but covid "wasn't in the U.S. yet" which is most likely BS. I think I had it but can't prove it. Went to the Doctor who said it wasn't the flu, just caught some 'virus'. Ahhh, an unknown virus at that time. Yeah. I had it, pretty sure.

QuoteThose vaxxed got over Omicron very quickly with little symptoms. Those unvaxxed all got hit pretty hard (about 7 I'm aware of). A couple young dudes unvaxxed didn't get too sick (I think).

My daughter, her husband, all 3 kids, all unvaxxed caught it right before Christmas...4 of them did really well, my son in law, he was down hard for several days...

Step-daughter, her husband and teen son, all unvaxxed, her and the child both positive, minor symptoms, husband never popped positive...

Step-daughter fully vaxxed, caught it as well right before Christmas, she had somewhat of a rough go...no hospital but hit pretty hard..

That's just this go around, other family members caught it during the initial phase...one step-daughter has had it twice, both times fairly minor cases.

The owner of our company has had it twice. He does a lot of international travel (Africa safaris & such)...so after he caught rona for the first time in 2020, he had to get the jab to travel. Late in 2021 he got it again.

Myself...tested positive for the antibodies last April when I donated blood. A couple of weeks ago developed sore throat, headache, earaches, low energy, yadda yadda. Half a dozen people that I am in close contact with (including the owner) got the exact same symptoms and tested positive. I came up negative with one of the rapid tests.

I believe it was April 2020, Covid showed up at the end of 2019 beginning of 2020

i know of only two people that had it twice, second time very mild.. and unvaxxed

My sister had Covid with mild symptoms. Then had to get the shot to go on a cruise, got real sick from it (the shot). She says she will not get another shot. She got the 1 shot one (Johnson) because she didn't have enough time B4 the cruise.

It's so damn unpredictable, who knows anymore. (Glad your son-in-law and step-daughter got through ok, though pretty sick)

Del.

Now they are getting cases of Flurona
Where you have the flu and Covid simultaneously.

Just had the flu at thanksgiving. That would really suck to have both.

daughter suspects she has rona for the third time now. tested positive the two previous times. says she knows what it feels like and this is it again.
she is a nurse and likes her social life so is exposed constantly.

A group of them went to FL last weekend for the bowl game that Michigan was in. Every one of them are now sick.

so far my wife and I have been OK.
We have both had 2 vaccinations and the booster, but it's becoming clear that they are
not very effective
We both spent our childhoods in 3rd world foreign lands and were heavily
vaccinated for dozens of 3rd world diseases when we were young.
I'm starting to wonder if that has given us a leg up where Covid is concerned.
Between work and church we have both be around dozens of infected people
and have not gotten sick.
I sure hope the current trend continues

Del.

So far me and the wife have not gotten it. We haven't frequented restaurants or anyplace else for several months. I have cabin fever.
