I am wondering if anyone else has firsthand knowledge of anyone who has had Covid twice....

I am not interested in what the studies say or who published this or claimed that...

Firsthand knowledge of a person who has caught it more than once...

I got tested once and it was a nightmare.
Not the test itself but all the politics that come with it.
I will never get tested again so I will never know.

My wife has had it twice. She was first positive in Nov 2020 by way of PCR test. Then two weeks ago she had 2 positive at home tests. However, I'm not 100% convinced that the at home tests can tell the difference from a flu or Covid. I am also 100% convinced though that my at home positive tests were Covid. My illness was unlike any flu I have ever had in my life.

I do not know of anyone personally that has got COVID and been symptomatic twice.

I've not done any polling of my friends, however, thinking back now, today I would be fairly confident in saying at least 51% of the people I know have had a confirmed or suspected case of it at one point or another. Furthermore I know several individuals that have not had it yet and have been directly exposed and are not vaccinated.

A guy at work had it in April of 2020. Later, he got vaxxed, though not sure which one or if he got a booster. He's home sick with it again right now.

I agree with Doug.
I think the testing is wonky, so who 'has it' is quite subjective.

Having said that, one friend of mine who had COVID early last year has tested positive (home test) again.
He says his symptoms are much different this time, much more like a regular flu.
Take that FWIW...

He is the only one I know personally who *may have* had it twice.

Here's Johnny!

I know there are "stated" cases like Bryan Adams and now Connor McDavid...I don't know anyone first hand that has had it 2 times.

My wife noted last night, during the first wave we didn't know anyone who had it, during the second/ third wave we knew a few people that had it....during the Omicron wave it seems to be a lot closer and we know many people with it.

I got my third jab on Dec 28/ 2021...not sure I will take anymore unless I see positive proof that it is doing something significant.

That's about where I'm at...I got mine on 11/6/21.....

I may get another if it's offered but only becasue if I refuse, I am almost certain my wife would as well....and while I've done much over the past year to get myself healthier, I realize that she is right in the Covid wheelhouse of people who have trouble with it...

If it were just me, at this point, I'd be done....

that's what a lot of people don't get, it's not just for yourself

I've been home in the bed for three days straight.  Went to the doc and they did a rapid test, came out positive.  I said now give me the PCR test, should be getting the results back by lunch today.  I am vaccinated, and I also feel like I'm on my death bed.  Like the Worst migranes and earaches and drainage

The first two days of my Covid experience was the worst headaches I have ever had in my life. Then after that it was just normal flu symptoms for another 10 days and a loss of appetite.

I don't recall anyone I personally know who's had it twice.

So say the "research" (grain of salt as this is ongoing),... Delta estimated around 85%, Omicron 20%. (85% of Delta infections have not reoccurred, 20% Omicron ESTIMATED to not reoccur)

Having Delta first, higher probability you can get Omicron also.

Just a very tiny sample size of people I know:

My nephew, his wife (the 2 kids 5 and 7 never tested positive despite being in same house) both tested positive with Omicron (1 million daily cases in U.S. reported, that's just confirmed test results and people are testing much more now which may play a role in the quantity). They are both "boosted". Both had very mild cold symptoms, never felt sick. A co-worker here, also "boosted", got it. Very mild symptoms, the colds he gets most years around this time felt worse for him. He is fine now.

Several co-workers got Omicron who are unvaxxed. All got pretty sick, out a week to 10 days. Owner and wife in bad shape (unvaxxed) (he is 84 and wife has had heart issues, to be clear).

Again, just my personal observation from those I know. Those vaxxed got over Omicron very quickly with little symptoms. Those unvaxxed all got hit pretty hard (about 7 I'm aware of). A couple young dudes unvaxxed didn't get too sick (I think).

All seem fully recovered now except our owner and wife.

That sucks! Get well soon!
