There are 3 of us who work together, 2 programmers and the machine operator. The operator is fully vaccinated, no booster, as are the rest of us. He has been off since the first of the year with Covid. He still is not 100% but his doctor released him to come back to work. The issue is with the company. When you report a positive test with symptoms they don't just tell you to stay home, they shut off your badge so you can't get through the gate. The problem is that they are so backed up he can't  get anyone to respond to tell him he can come back. So he came in today but our manager has to let him through the gate as well as badge him into our work area.
There are about 9000 people at this facility in Wichita so they are slammed. Also he doesn't look too good. Since he was vaccinated and still got Covid he won't have to use any personal time to get paid.
I told him my advice would be to go home and continue to recover while waiting for the company to respond.

See that is the issue with the whole thing. He followed everything he was supposed to and still got sick, but is not paid like others who make claims to have it get paid and never had it to milk the system then those who need it the most are the ones not getting the real help they need. He feels his family's need out weight his right now and doing everything he can to keep them feed and roof over their heads. Yes it sucks and he not trying to hurt others, but needs to work to make money.
