And stopped Bleeding Ulcers.

Don't know what it is But them Damn Cowboy Killers keep it at Bay.

My doctor told me the same thing 10 years ago when my UC was much less and I was first diagnosed. That smoking for some reason suppresses UC.

funny thing is I haven't been sick since
I have 20 or so friends all with the same story, only sick at the beginning, not sick since. I have also heard this echoed by many others.

QuoteHow many of those yes's were vaxed at the time?

I wasn't.

The hospital system that I go to puts out this chart on covid hospitalizations. This chart includes the total of all 5 hospitals. They recently added the vaccination status to the chart. Scroll down about half way to see it.

I recently started smoking again too. My doctor said I wasn't getting enough tar.

Quote from: Jon@NOWHERE on January 20, 2022, 04:59 PMI have been tested for covid 3 times since  2020.  1 because of a possible exposure at work, 1 because my middle son tested positive on a Tuesday and he spent a few hours at our house the Friday before and the last time was cause I was somewhat "sick" over the last Christmas holidays. Every time the tests came back negative.  When I was sick over Christmas I had a cough and a sore throat and nothing more, not even a fever.  So I don't think I have had it.  My older son tested positive the other day so he is sick with it right now.

Welp looks like the 4th time is a charm.  I started feeling bad last Friday night, went and got tested Saturday and it came back positive.  So far just a fever, cough and body aches...

Daughter in law popped on Saturday, their 2 teen girls all have it...all vaxxed...my step-son, in the same house, still negative....

My wife and 2 yr old son are both running fevers, I was isolating until today when she said I need to stop isolating cause she and him are both sick now.

95% hospitalized not boosted, 93% in ICU not boosted, 98% ventilated not boosted.

^^^ A caveat Thad, as a higher % of population not boosted - so those stats can be a bit misleading.

Still, I say better (more) safe than sorry.

Our owner died this weekend. Battled covid for a month in ICU. His wife died two days prior. He was old (84) so not saying vaccination would have prevented this, but at his age he should have gotten it.

A co-worker here a work was at first anti-vax. His opinion evolved over time and he is currently up to date on his vaccination status.

This last holiday season his family was in a bit of a kerfluffle because Grandma and Grandpa who were in their 70's and were also anti-vaxers got covid. They didn't bother to tell the family that they were sick and they showed up for Christmas dinner giving most of the family covid. To make matters worse Grandma refused to let Gramdpa go to the hospital until he was very sick. He was too far gone by the time that he was admitted and died.

They never made it to New Years.

BTW that coworker just got covid. Thankfully it seems to be a mild case.

Define anti-vax.  Do you consider one anti-vax because they choose not to get the Vax but at the same time doesn't discourage others to skip it?  Or do you consider one anti-vax if they try to persuade everyone to skip it?  Both my wife and myself have our reasons for not wanting to take the Vax, but I don't consider myself anti-vax.  If you feel you need it then by all means get it.  But don't disparage me for my decisions.

We kind of had a similar situation around Thanksgiving last year.  My mom had come to visit and our two older sons and their girlfriends came over to spend time with us and their grandma.  2 days later my middle son got sick and tested positive for covid.  When he told me I asked where he thought he got, he said that his girlfriend's mother had been exposed by someone who came into where she had worked to purchase liquor and told her they had covid.  But he said they didn't think it was a big deal because her mother behind a plexiglass divider.  I blew up on him about it and said if you knew she had been exposed and you were around her then you shouldn't have come.  My mom is in her 70s and while she had gotten the Vax she didn't need to be exposed to that, she has multiple conditions that put her in a high risk category.
