It's one swamp opposing another swamp, using the people as pawns.

It is two parties fighting for control of the swamp, using the people as you said as pawns. Trump was an outsider, not part of the swamp and he called them out for their ways. That is why the D and R swamp are united in getting rid of him.

Trump has is own private swamp.  He keeps it manicured by firing or sabotaging anyone who doesn't tell him what he wants to hear.

Or it could be that when he finds an official that reports to him is loyal to the swamp he gets rid of them.

"Hice to Newsmax TV: 'President Is Totally Right' on Raffensperger Call"

QuoteRep. Jody Hice, R-Ga., told Newsmax TV on Monday that President Donald Trump was "totally right in what he's asking for" during his recent phone call with Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger.

Hice told "John Bachman Now" on Monday that the on call, which was reported over the weekend, "the president is totally right in what he's asking for."

The congressman added, "He's not asking for the Secretary of State to create, out of the blue, some certain number of votes to see that he wins. What he's saying is what we all know: there are tens and tens and tens and tens of thousands of invalid votes in Georgia, perhaps in the hundreds of thousands, and the president is simply saying, 'let's investigate and go after those votes. Let's see what's valid, and cast out the illegal ballots so that we have an accurate count.'"

He continued, "The president is totally convinced, as I also am, that President Trump won Georgia and he won it significantly, and all he is saying is, 'let's have an accurate count of the votes, let's prove it.' And I believe the Secretary of State owes that to not only the president, but the people of Georgia and the United States."

This came out the year he was elected and has pretty much run true for four years.

""Lying is second nature to him," Schwartz said. "More than anyone else I have ever met, Trump has the ability to convince himself that whatever he is saying at any given moment is true, or sort of true, or at least ought to be true."
