QuoteDespite the partisan framing from the Washington Post – that the call somehow reflected Trump making demands for votes from his Republican colleagues – the President actually does no such thing. Throughout the call, the President makes clear that his calls are for election transparency, full and transparent audits, and public access. At no point does the President imply he wants votes invented or confected, as the establishment media is portraying. He even offers to recuse himself from parts of the conversation and ends by asking for "the truth... it's just that simple."

I looked through the transcripts you linked.  "All I want to do is this. I just want to find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have," is in there, it's not a misquote.

Looks to me like Trump was threatening to try to cause legal trouble for the guy if he didn't make up 11,780 votes in Trump's favor.

neurosis

I listened to the recording last night.

It sounded more like an implication of legal trouble. Not really a threat.

The conversation wasn't as bad as some of the reporting I've heard. It sounds exactly like something Trump would do to me. :D  I would have to call that phone call at minimum unethical.
I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

Sure when taken out of context. If you consider all of what trump said he is asking for full audit of votes. He never asked him to make any votes up, only an honest count. You are applying your opinion of what "All I want to do is this. I just want to find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have," means.

Looks like they already did three recounts.  Trump is throwing a tantrum and saying "Keep recounting until I win."

Nope, he is asking for an audit of votes to determine eligibility. That is different from a recount. Recounting the same votes whether cast legally or illegally will yield the same results. Auditing the eligibility to make sure only legal votes were counted will prove quite a difference if the sworn testimony of witnesses is correct.

All I can say is I'm glad in 20 days he will be gone. Sadly his presence will still affect many good people as evidenced by the excuses being made here and elsewhere for him. My wife always accuses me of having made way too many excuses for him over the last 4 years as I focused on his policies rather than his Twitter rants and personality toxicity. He's a sad example of someone who never grew up or past his traumatic childhood, but instead used it as an excuse to treat everyone who crossed him with ugliness and venom.

I'm glad the Georgian Republican officials are holding firm. For anyone who is interested in an intelligent response to all the conspiracy hype and lies from the Right about the election being stolen from a sympathetic voice, Sen Ben Stasse (R) had a really good post on his Facebook account that goes point by point refuting the common, misrepresentations by Trump and his allies.

I'd rather listen to Yoko Ono cover Tiny Tim's, Tiptoe Through the Tulips.

To all the "Biden won, let it go" people. If he really honestly won, then what harm would come from doing a full and accurate audit in the contested states? If the votes are found to be legit and legal, it would be the biggest political win the dems could ever hope for. It would hurt the GOP for decades to come. Why are they so against it, unless they know it would reveal the fraud.

Did you even read what Senator Sasse (R) wrote?  Most of these Trump supporting Republican senators and judges are saying "Biden won, let it go!"  When your own team is telling you to back down it's time to reevaluate.

They are not my team. I find the status quo R party to only slightly less corrupt than the Dems. It's not the R team and the D team opposing Trump. It's the swamp opposing the people. It's the oligarchy that wants their globalist agenda and profiteering restored to the Obama/Biden days when the wealth gap grew faster than any other time in Americas history. There isn't a single part of government, from elected officials to career agency/department employees, that isn't corrupted by the swamp and they all want to go back to the way it was. Yes I read the Sasse FB post, I don't agree with opinion. When Sasse claims it will hurt the republic, he means it will hurt the swamp and his handlers.

It's one swamp opposing another swamp, using the people as pawns.

Shazam/TPP

this is what both swamps are doing, We the people are now the cows!!
