Yeah, I have gone that route before with mixed results.
My pool is a 15' x 30' oval above ground.

Reason #1 is that putting on and taking off the solar cover by myself is kind of a pain.
I thought about building a roller mechanism at one end with a crank handle to roll it up, but I never pursued that because of the second reason.

Reason #2 is that when I was using the solar cover, the amount of algae that was growing in the pool seemed to dramatically increase.  Yes, I could just add more chlorine, but with the price of chlorine lately that isn't a very good option either.

So we will just take what the Good Lord gives us for our water temperature and enjoy it just the same.     

I couldn't handle 70 degree water. Our pool is only 21 ft round and solar cover on 24 hrs a day really brought temp to 85. I doubt I need it for a few months now as I'm sure it's 90 plus.

I add algaeside once a week

Last year I paid $103 for bucket of good chlorine tabs. This year it is $195.  I blame Putin and the Republicans.

If I had a Pool full of Russian Models at my disposal ,Believe me you would want some chlorine in it.

I don't blame Putin at all.

And I wouldn't let The Republicans anywhere near it.

looking like we'll be mid-90s with a heat index 105-110 today.  It's not so much the heat, but the annoyingly high humidity that sucks today.

High for the rest of the week is only going to be 81, with rain coming, then dropping back to 70's over the weekend.

97 right now and we have AC only in the office.


Which means us DeBurr hands are sweatin it out.

My Boss is very cool. (not a pun)

He buys us electrolytes and cold water and says if ya need go to the break room and cool off.

He doesn't even blink.

If it hits 100 we shut down for the day.
