Ok, derailing this *slightly*, who all has looked into Carnivore diet?  Doug?  ;D

Seriously, I've been reading tons of accounts of people with UC (like me) that have been medication free for more than a year.  I can attest that when I stick to mostly meat, my insides are much, much better.

Yes Doug, I love my green stuff and all vegies.
But damn, you know how hard it would be to live on nothing but Beef, butter, and bacon?

Currently I am prescribed 4 pills every day for eternity...

I'm on it right now. ;D

My gut is much better.

So far have lost 9 Lbs.

Not as bad as it sounds.

And the veggies are still there.

You just have to check. :)

I have looked into it some as I have family members that are on carnie/keto diets. My take is this, the carnivore diet is an extreme elimination diet. That is why people feel so much better and get healthier in the short term. You eliminate refined grains, sugars, processed foods, etc. For people with autoimmune conditions and other ailments it can be a great way to find some reprieve. However long term there is no valid data. There has not been long term studies to look at what happens when you eat this way for a decade or two. Also, there are no studies that reverse or negate what has been long known about cholesterol, saturated fat, and heart disease. The carnivore diets also goes against all of the science on relationship of gut health and fiber.

All meats work. Chicken skin on , Shrimp Fish , Pork ,sausage.

Ragu makes an excellent sauce 0 carbs garlic and parmesan. I bought johnsonville meatballs and covered them.

Yum.

Plus cheese is on the menu. It's dairy Fat so it is cool. :D

Snack on Pork Rinds , string cheese , almonds and cashews.

I really want to try this, but would probably have some serious carbohydrate withdrawals. And I can't convince my wife to do it with me. If you try it, keep us updated on your experience.

Bro... My wife an daughter would laugh at me if I asked them to try that with me.  There's no way I'll make it when my wife's cooking legit homemade Italian dishes

My oldest son has been on a carnivore diet for ~3 years. Dropped over 100lbs in 2 years. Been maintaining for 1.

September he started eating veggies again. 1 veggie at a time per month. So far broccoli, spinach, and asparagus are in the diet. His weight has remained stable so far. He said his weight has varied 5lbs+/- over the last year from his base target weight.

He only eats grass fed grain finished beef from some small organic farm in Texas...  Little Cattle Co.
