Today is day 22. Start of week 4. I have kind of hit a plateau as far as weight loss, but according to my watch I am down about 2-3% in body fat since starting and up a few lbs in skeletal muscle. I don't really trust the accuracy of the BIO impedance readings from my watch but over time it seems to show a stable trend. The first three weeks kind of flew by and I was in a pretty good routine, until the last two days. The last two days were very difficult. I also did BJJ training three times this week which takes a lot out of me. A few people I know that tried this said they hit the same wall around the fourth week and had to push through. they suggested switching up things for a week or so. Workout at different times. Do a different workout, etc. Today is a weight lifting day. Then tomorrow I think I will try bike riding for my outside 45 min instead of walk/running.

Well unfortunately my 75 hard challenge came to an end at day 37. With IMTS last week it was a ragged week with my watch logging 21 miles in 2 days. Then when I got back I had a couple of good days. On Friday I had a good weight lifting session and I made 4.25 miles in 45 minutes on my run. Then Friday evening my throat started hurting and my voice got very horse. I woke up yesterday to 100 deg fever and felt like crap most of the day. I fell much better today but definitely not 100%. I don't know if the last week just ran me down too much that I couldn't fight off a simple cold, but I missed a day of 75 hard which means you have to start over. I think in a few days when I am fully recovered I am going to finish the last 38 days for my own benefit and then maybe next spring try for a full 75 days.

Edit: decided I should take a COVID test and it came back positive.

Sorry to hear that Doug. I think the new test don't test for just Covid. I believe they are testing for a broad spectrum of colds and flu symptoms. Cannot keep Phiser and other Companies rich if the government doesn't allow them ways to keep scaring the people. Got the two shots and still got it and yes I felt bad for a few days, but after that I was fine.

After over 2.5 years of this "highly" contagious virus we finally got it 3 weeks ago. Woke up in the middle of the night with a bad fever and chills. Took a CV test in the morning and it was negative. Took another a couple days later, still negative. After losing both my taste and smell a couple days later I took another test and it was finally positive. Got my smell and taste back last week, but still have a foggy brain feeling, enough that I'm afraid to climb over a few steps on a ladder. Wife tested positive at the same time as me but she really didn't have much for symptoms. Both the boys had no symptoms and we tested the oldest twice and was negative.

Quote from: Newbeeeeâ„¢ on September 19, 2022, 10:35 AMI believe....the PCR test can only test for dead fragments which is why it "usually" picks up "things" after a few days of grogginess.
I also believe....it cannot differentiate between cold, flu or any variants. Despite what the oh,fishy line is....

People are testing positive up to 90 days later using that tests.

When we had it last December we were told same by doctors and nurses. You can still test positive for up to 3 months. That's why many companies go by a set length of time, 5-10 days, for a return to work instead of a negative test.

In a house of 7 people me and my wife tested positive and no one else. Why can't proven science explain that? It is a virus and a virus is going to virus plain and simple fact. Problem is with this man made virus it doesn't follow the science because they are still trying to figure out what they created.

The test I took was at least a year old. It has been sitting in our medicine cabinet since last fall when we had Covid come through the house. I don't know if there is an expiration date or if the test are different now, or if they can even distinguish between Covid and the flu. I will say the symptoms and the illness are very similar to the last time I tested positive. The only difference is this time it is no where near as strong. Our official work policy is at least 5 days out of office so I snuck in when no one was there to grab my laptop so I can work from home since I am feeling much better today.

I took a week off of training when I got Covid two weeks ago. This past week I started running again in the mornings. Worked my way up to 4-5 miles in 40-50 minutes the last few days. My knees have never felt better when running. I did put some effort into strength training to help my knee issues.

That being said I was just going to finish the second half of 75 hard for myself, but I just finished reading David Goggins book, Can't Hurt Me, and I feel like just finishing the second half of 75 hard would be taking the easy "bitch voice" way out. So tomorrow morning I am starting 75 hard at day 1. That will put my finish date in the middle of December. I may have a few runs in the cold/snow, but that will just be another chance to overcome complacency and the desire to be comfortable.

If you have not read Goggin's book I would highly recommend it. It is crazy motivational. I would pick something in your life you want to do/improve and then focus on that during the period you are reading the book. Every morning when I am out running and I start getting tired and want to slack I think some line from the book and I keep going.
