Cimco DNC/Moxa NPort 5100/ windows 10; can't open port

'Upgraded' the operating system to Win10 on shop computer. now I can't open a port through cimco.

I used their software utility to get 'NPort Communication Port 1 (COM3)' setup in device manager.
 so setting up cimco to use this port gets can't open port error.

if i setup using the default COM1, no error or data.

...and the devices are accessable through the network, as I can login to there setup page with their IP add'y

Have you tried checking Cimco's website foe a Win10 compliant version of Cimco DNC

i guess i was working too late last night; posted out of frustration.

downloaded the latest version^^^^^
1. COM Mapping
2. Add
3. search

software automatically sets up next available COM# and associates the Moxa's static IP address.

maybe google will find this for the next knucklehead......

BTW, the old version of cimco edit carried through to windows10, unmolested and functional.
