He kills 17 kids and wounds 17 more and doesn't get the Death Penalty? That is a travesty. If you don't get it for that you might as well take it away.

I think the death penalty would be too merciful for a guy in his early 20's sentenced to life with no chance of parole

Unfortunately for the death penalty to be used in Florida it has to be unanimously agreed to by the jury and in this case it was 11 to 1 for the death penalty and so it was held back by a single person.

The law can never be applied equally when dependent on a unanimous jury of 12...there's always someone who has different thoughts than the majority.

Certainly the actions of the Parkland shooter qualifies for a capitol punishment sentence.

As mentioned, the remainder of his life will not be pleasant. For the victims and their families, I hope that sentence will provide them some level of comfort.

He definitely needs to die.
I say before he goes to prison he needs to be handcuffed and bound, then let all of the parents have 5 minutes each alone with him in a room. If he survives, then he can be sent away to waste taxpayer dollars.

I would say that in the rare cases like this where there is truly zero doubt as to who did it, the death penalty should be the preferred outcome.  But in far too many other cases, the court CLAIMS there's zero doubt, a confession was extracted under duress, and a few years later (or decades, with technological advances) conclusive contradicting evidence is found, but it's far too late and an innocent man was put to death while the real perpetrator went free.  So since the court system is so fallible, I cannot condone the practice of death sentences as a whole.

I would be very surprised if he died a natural death
A skinny little white boy mass murderer like him is going to have a very hard time in prison.
Even if they keep him in protective custody, it's only a matter of time till a door gets left open by accident

Speaking of smoking. I'm starting on Chantix next week. A possible side effect is murder. I guess that's why they don't advertise on TV.

Smoking is the last of worries these days,

What is the ratio of blame between the psycho or the culture that allows this to happen repeatedly?
One political ilk is at war with traditional masculinity and gender roles while at the same time literally dead-set against actually helping at risk populations.
