Quote from: mowens on November 22, 2022, 07:12 AMI leave for North Dakota in the morning. Forecasted temps look pretty decent. The cold doesn't hit until after I leave for home. I'm still bringing some extra cold weather gear, just in case.
Drive safe and keep a lookout for black ice on bridges and overpasses. That stuff is deadly.

The frost is so light you have to look are to see it and it's long gone by the time the sun cracks the eastern sky.

I figured as much hence the middle finger lol.

Always bring/dress as if it's going to be much colder. I always tell my wife and kids "You can always take it off but can't put it on if you didn't bring it".

Quote from: BrianP. on November 22, 2022, 05:32 AMTry getting a 1/16-1/8 inch of ice off. Now that's a big PITA.

I stayed at a West Coast Ocean hotel about two years ago. We ended up having an overnight ice storm that took the power out to the entire town.  I went out to my truck in the morning and found it covered with at least 1/4" of ice.  Luckily I had parked with the passengers side toward the Ocean and all of the rain and wind was coming from that direction so the Drivers side only took a little bit of persuasion to get in.  I had to let the truck run for an hour before we could even see out of any of the windows.

We wanted to get the hell out of there because it was cold and no electricity so we drove for about 45 minutes to the next small town where I was finally able to pull some of the huge sheets of ice off of the truck.

Can't say that I would enjoy doing that every winter.  :D
I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.
