What's your daily driver?

The hybrid/EV thread got me thinking it's been a while since we have had a daily driver thread.

I just sold my truck. While I really loved driving it, @ 13 mpg I was leaving it sit too much and started loathing the monthly payment on a truck I was rarely driving. I also wanted to get rid of the payment before the full effects of the recession show up next year.

My current daily driver is a 2012 Subaru Impreza Sport premium wagon. 155K miles. Gets about 28mpg on average. Just put new all season tires on it last month and in yesterday's 5 inches of snow it was great. It could be the best snow car I have have ever owned.

My daily drive is a 2020 Toyota Rav-4 AWD Hybrid Limited.  Gets 35 to 41 MPG mainly depending on weather and how heavy my foot is.

I get 25-30 mpg around city and 30-35+ on highway. Fun to drive as it's pretty quick for a low end sport sedan. Faster than my 2014 ATS was

I walk to work, so... :harhar:

The upside of that is that we can get by with one vehicle.

The Mrs. and I have a 2009 Nissan Rogue we bought used with around 70k miles, and just turned 140k.
I had to replace the transmission @ 90k which really aggravated me, and the most recent oil change revealed some tiny metal shavings and gunk in the pan that tells me it's probably going to be replaced sooner rather than later.

LOL, Years ago when I first started machining another machinist told me where ever I end up, watch out for mold makers that drive fancy German cars. He said they are stubborn, insufferable A-holes to work with.  ;)

Volvo's are heavy cars so it's not as quick as you'd expect with 340hp
but it's quick enough

2016 Silverado Doublecab. Bought it before kids thinking it would be big enough for carseats etc. Then had kids and realized carseats are 10x bigger than you expect. Started looking for a crewcab with atleast a 6foot bed then Covid hit and everything doubled in price. Still look occasionally but may just have to deal with it for the time being. And with it paid for and still have 40k left on warranty it's not like it's costing us anything to own.

Back in the day, if they were driving fancy German cars they were making some fancy money too!!!
now days they'll sell/lease a car to anyone stupid enough to sign on the dotted line

A dairy mechanic who works with my wife just bought a blinged out Dodge pickup truck for $110K
His payments are $1300/month ( for life) He is proud AF of that ride, but I have no doubt he will regret his purchase
It's got a monster 485hp hemi motor, huge off road tires and an escalator on the doors to help climb into the beast
He only fills it up half way cause it costs about $250 to fill it up
