Machining Cloud Pricing

I said this was DOA from Day 1 and nothing has happened to change my mind

I think I used it once BITD when it was free. Didn't really help my cause much so I uninstalled it.

It was convenient to get most tools from one site but not convenient enough to pay for.

I used them to find Mitsubishi tools because Mitsubishi catalogs and their website are about as bad as they get
I might consider paying $5 to 10 a month, but $160/month is not happening

Yeah, it was convenient, but just about every model I would DL from them is available at the tool MFG's website or app. Not going to pay for something I can get for free.

Kennametal's side of this, NOVO, is still free. I use it constantly for drills, both finding them and getting very good starting points for speeds & feeds. When Machining Cloud started to charge, I deleted that bookmark.

If I remember right, most places (like Mitsubishi, Walter, others) didn't even have the speed/feeds built in.

Is this the same one that took FOREVER to download?
For that reason alone I never used it.
Now they want $160 per month?
I want what they're smoking.

I was thinking the same thing.

I'm curious how they justify that amount of a monthy fee.
I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

It feels like they were throwing darts at a board and this was the number they hit..the service wouldn't be worth that a year

that may be the number they need to make the monthly overhead
I'm thinking the venture capital money has run out, the investors aren't up for another infusion of cash
and this outfit is circling the drain.

I'm thinking their initial business model was to be a one stop shop for models and tools and the revenue
was supposed to come from the sale of tools.

at any rate $160/month is a crack fever dream... not going to happen

I figured an advertisement business model is about the only path. I guess I'd be wrong since what single manufacturer would pay while their competition is well represented.
Lol@160 per month. I wouldn't pay that for 2 years.

It was barely worth the effort when it was free.

I usually start at 20% and go up or down depending on the service. I don't remember seeing a pre-tip charge but if I did I more than likely would pre-walk out the door.
