In Del's defense, They don't teach percentageers until the 5th grade in Kenfucky !! ;D

We try not to eat it often since processed meat is so bad for you, but when we do they have about a 25% success rate on getting her order correct. It makes it hard to tip when you know they are so inconsistent.

Must be your local guys; they've never made a mistake on mine.

Walmart and home depot will be adding a tip selection for self checkout. It goes to the creepy person who you didn't agree to be your supervisor for the job you didn't accept or even apply for.

Most restaurants now ask you to tip beforehand as you pay.%18 to %20

During the "Pandemic" Most convenience stores and liquor stores had Tip jars.

Some restaurants actually added a percentage in advance of your purchase %18.

The pandemic is over, tipping is done.

Don't be a cheapskate, i bet you would have no trouble tipping that 18% at a, ahem , gentlemans club.

Unfortunately for the workers, one big factor for me is the cost versus value of the meal. Some restaurants have raised their prices so much that the meal is just not worth the cost. Unfortunately then I tip less or just don't eat there anymore.

The one that really gets me is the places that have a tip screen or line item automatically come up in the checkout process. Those places keep raising their prices, and have the audacity to try to force you to tip so they can keep wages down.

Quote from: Matthew Hajicek on December 05, 2022, 01:05 PMI have no problem tipping generously when I ask the folks at Jersey Mike's to make me a gluten free sub.  They have to wipe everything down, use a clean knife, change gloves, take extra precautions, etc.  It's extra work, so it's worth extra money, and I'd like them to know it's appreciated.
Do they have gluten free bread? The reason I ask is I was at Red Robin last weekend and they had a gluten free burger so I ordered it. I turns out they were using lettuce for the bread and had it wrapped in a type of wax paper for handling. It was good but very sloppy.

My son wanted me to pick up Five Guys for him a couple of weeks ago. When we got there to pick it up there were a couple of girls eating burgers wrapped in lettuce. I know that used to be popular at In-N-Out in Cali but I had never seen it anywhere else.

Jimmy John's has what they call an unwich, which is just the sandwich wrapped in lettuce.

I'm not a big bread guy so I thought it tasted good but it was messy.

Yes, they do.  I get a giant sized Italian, sometimes double meat, all the fixings.  It's a $20+ sandwich, but it's two meals and very satisfying.

I get the lettuce wrapped burger at Five Guys.  It's a good option for a GF diner.

I wouldn't go there for a cold cut sandwich. IMO, they're just "eh, another chain sandwich place." Nothing special. Where I think they shine is their cheesesteak sandwich. Now I'm not claiming to be a cheesesteak aficionado or that it's the best cheesesteak around. I'm just saying that it's a really good sandwich. #56, in particular.  ;)

There is something to be said for living in an area with plenty of good "sandwich" shops about...rarely do I go to anything of the chain locations...Don't need to
