I haven't heard anything more than the initial report yet and don't watch cable news anymore so probably won't hear anything substantial for a couple of days.

wo subsidiaries of the Trump Organization were convicted Tuesday of multiple crimes, including tax fraud, falsifying business records and conspiracy by a jury in New York City.

The convictions on all 17 counts come weeks after the company's owner, Republican former President Donald Trump, declared his candidacy for the White House in the 2024 election.

Trump was not personally a defendant in the case, which related to a scheme by his company to avoid taxes on compensation in the form of perks to its then-chief financial officer Allen Weisselberg and other executives since 2005.

He gets to file Bankruptcy again and gets a Tax break for the next seven years.

In some ways it's a limited victory for prosecutors, however.

No one, save for Weisselberg, is going to prison. No one is putting a padlock on Trump Tower or forcing the company out of business. And a potential $1.6 million fine is a rounding error on the budget of an enterprise that boasts billions of dollars in assets.

I wonder if they will be going after their star witness for purjury? Either he is lying or the DA is lying. Wonder if you can sue a DA for libel or slander?

Trump Organization lawyers repeated the mantra "Weisselberg did it for Weisselberg" throughout the monthlong trial, contending that he had gone rogue and betrayed the company's trust. Weisselberg attempted to take responsibility on the witness stand, saying nobody in the Trump family knew what he was doing.

"It was my own personal greed that led to this," an emotional Weisselberg testified.

But prosecutor Joshua Steinglass alleged in his closing that Trump "knew exactly what was going on" and was "explicitly sanctioning tax fraud."

I did it myself when I was self employed ( bought my cars with corporate pretax money instead of
paying for them personally with after tax $$$)

I doubt 1 corporation in a hundred could withstand the inquisitions Trump's holdings have been put through
