This is what happened when I asked the same question.

Quoteme: Is California is still experiencing the worst drought in 1000 years, even though rainfall has been 2 sigma above normal.

ChatGpt:  The statement "California is still experiencing the worst drought in 1000 years, even though rainfall has been 2 sigma above normal" appears to be contradictory, as drought is typically defined as a prolonged period of abnormally low rainfall.

However, it is possible that the statement refers to the fact that while California may have received more rainfall than usual recently, the state has still not fully recovered from the effects of previous years of drought. In addition, increased rainfall can also lead to increased evaporation due to warmer temperatures, which can exacerbate drought conditions.

It's important to note that drought is a complex phenomenon that involves not just rainfall, but also factors such as temperature, humidity, and soil moisture. Therefore, it is possible for a region to receive a lot of rainfall but still be experiencing drought conditions if other factors are not favorable for plant growth and water availability.

No where did it mention social justice. Someone was trolling.

ChatGPat... created and programmed by hard core leftists, enviro-nazis, and generally people that KNOW what's best for YOU.

As long as you know that going in...

The MACRO B thing I'm trying to create so far has been not up to snuff. Gonna keep working with it only because at some point in my career that may be the only tool I have access to for one reason or another. Same reason I bought a 3D Printer. Some day subtractive isn't going to be the dominant manufacturing method and I need to have a good grasp on it lest I become obsolete.

Yeah, I've been arguing with it all day and still haven't gotten a good result.

I haven't done subtractive manufacturing for 13 years.

I thought that this was an interesting answer. I used preplex ai rather than chatgpt.

I wonder what chatgpt would say.

QuoteIn a mass shooting who is at fault? The gun, or the criminal?

PERPLEXITY
The fault in a mass shooting lies with the criminal who committed the act of violence, not the gun. While guns are often used in mass shootings, it is the individual who chooses to use the gun to harm others. Mental illness is often cited as a contributing factor to mass shootings, but research shows that the vast majority of people with mental illness are not violent[1][2]. Gun violence is a complex issue that includes homicide, violent crime, attempted suicide, suicide, and unintentional death and injury[3].

Here is ChatGPT answer to that question;

In a mass shooting, the primary responsibility lies with the individual who carried out the attack. The person who committed the crime made the decision to use a gun to harm others, and therefore bears the responsibility for their actions.

However, it's also important to recognize that guns can be dangerous weapons and that access to firearms can make it easier for individuals to carry out mass shootings. This is why many people argue for stricter gun control laws, background checks, and other measures to help prevent these types of tragedies from happening.

In summary, while the criminal is ultimately responsible for their actions in a mass shooting, it's also important to acknowledge the role that guns and access to firearms can play in enabling these types of attacks.

I was curious to see how the influence of the coders for the Ai would play out in the answers.

YoDoug

So then I asked it;

Why does your answer have bias against guns?

It answered;

I apologize if my previous answer seemed to express bias against guns. As an AI language model, I do not have personal beliefs or opinions, and my responses are based on the information and patterns of language that I have been trained on.

In my previous response, I simply acknowledged that guns can be dangerous weapons and that some people advocate for stricter gun control laws as a way to prevent mass shootings. This is a fact and a commonly held perspective on the issue.

However, I understand that opinions on gun control and the role of firearms in society can be highly polarized and emotionally charged. As an AI language model, my aim is to provide neutral and informative responses that present multiple perspectives on a given topic.

Quote from: Newbeeeeâ„¢ on April 11, 2023, 01:00 PMWhat is a fact? The fact that "some people advocate for stricter gun control laws", or the fact that those laws would be a "way to prevent mass shootings"?

And as for the "aim to provide neutral and informative responses".... :hrhr:

What I wonder is, is the bias built in from the creators/programmers, or did the bias come from feeding it biased learning material.

Somebody ask the bot, what specific new law would have prevented the shooting in Louisville on Monday. :coffee:

One of the limitations listed on chatgpt says that it may occasionally give biased information.

I'm sorry, but I don't have access to up-to-date news and information beyond my knowledge cutoff date of September 2021, and I don't know which specific shooting in Louisville you are referring to. However, in general, it is difficult to identify a single law that could have prevented any specific shooting incident. The causes of gun violence are complex and multifaceted, and a comprehensive approach that includes various measures and strategies may be necessary to address them effectively.

mkd

in your answer, 'difficult to identify' really means there is no such law or logic

QuoteNo, "difficult to identify" means that it is not always possible to pinpoint a specific law or regulation that could have prevented a particular shooting incident, especially without detailed information about the specific circumstances and context of the incident. However, it's important to note that the absence of a specific law or regulation does not necessarily mean that no law or regulation could have helped prevent the shooting. It may be that a combination of different laws and policies, as well as other preventive measures such as community-based interventions, mental health support, and early warning systems, are needed to address the underlying factors contributing to gun violence.
