It's all political theater. In criminal law there are codes/statutes and requirements to prove someone violated them. They have not referenced any laws/criminal codes or given any proof. They basically made up their recommended charges. When the political ruling class can make up crimes/charges to charge their opposition, that is a bigger threat to democracy than protestors getting unruly and walking into the capitol building. That's what third world banana republic dictators do.

We've got term limits here in Cali and it's resulted in 2 things

1. Inexperienced rookie legislators getting rolled by professional lobbyists and union powerbrokers

2. The rookie legislators get some experience and play musical chairs, moving around to other elected
   or appointed government positions.

The resulting governance is much worse than what we had before term limits were enacted
