I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

Karl Marx's plan was destroy the super-structure in order to destroy the sub-structure. I hope that Republicans are not following his plan.

I've always thought that the extreme right and the extreme left are on the same longitude line.

I'm not really that big of a fan of McCarthy either, but right now it seems like he is a wall standing in the way of chaos. If the the opposing faction had an actual plan I might feel different. But Gaetz had nominated 3 different people. and 2 of them are favoring the man he is voting against.

if you need evidence of that, look at our southern border  or their "defund the police"  policies that are turning blue America into war zones

McCarthy IS the chaos....he is John Bohner and Paul Ryan all rolled into one....if the elect him, he will turn...mark my words you'll see legislation brought to the floor in the name of "expediency" and that will only serve the Democrat social agenda

Hell, I'd take 2 years of this circus...becasue gridlock is good

Gridlock isn't so bad but a circus for 2 years will get you Hakeem Jeffries and 4 more years of Biden. Nobody is going to look at this and say we need more republicans unless this gets turned around.

Seriously, R's & D's ARE the problem....let's burn it to the ground and start over.

BTW, he has already lost 6 votes on the 9th ballot...he's already lost that one too...long past time to move on

I would love Trump, not because he is qualified, but because he could then launch endless investigations into Biden, Pelosi, Schiff, etc. He could even launch and investigation into the massive election fraud in 2020.

Agreed.
One of the points Congresswoman Boebert was trying to make in between Hannity's ravings last night was that she could not vote for McCarthy based on the fact that she did not trust him based on past dealings with him when he was the House Minority Leader.

She said that the 'concessions' McCarthy made to try to get elected as Speaker were only promises on his part, and she simply doesn't believe he would follow through on them because she said he has lied to her before.

So good on her for sticking to her principles, but I am still frustrated that the Republican party can't get its act together long enough to even agree on who their Speaker should be.  :wallbash:

QuoteRetiring Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) said in an interview that too many politicians in Washington "don't care" about the country, only about their "political ambitions."

Of course he says it after decades there and can't see he is also part of the problem. When politicians can just wait out administrations they don't need to work together. If they had a set amount of time to make their mark more would be willing to work together. Too many sheep keep voting the same idiots in.
