I saw an article that said the swamp rinos in the house were trying to strike up a deal with the dems to get their person through. This should tell you everything you need to know about the R party. When it comes down to it, Pence, Hailey, Christie, Romney, et al, care more about their power and their big biz donors than letting a conservative candidate get the speaker role. Voters be damned.

The problem is, just like the tea party before, the current freedom caucus will fail as well. Too many voters have not realized, or won't admit, that the R party is not the grand old party of Reagan. They are not the conservatives they pretend to be on TV. They are beholden to their donors and multi-nationals whose interests are not what's best for the American voter/worker. When MAGA candidates, Trump endorsed candidates run, both Rinos and Dems work against them because they don't want the system to be "of the people, for the people".
