Anybody watch the XFL?

I was sick all weekend so I watched quite a bit of it. I think that the rules are different enough that it doesn't seem like you're watching a lesser version of the NFL.

I found it very entertaining. I like their extra point rules.

One of the highlights was watching the DC fans build a giant beer snake be stacking all the empty beer cups. Security confiscated it. Fans expressed their displeasure by throwing lemons onto the field and then started on another beer snake.

Gotta love the minor leagues.

I watched a little. The end of the St Louis vs San Antonio game was interesting.

No kidding. I'd watched most of the game and Saint Louis was not doing well, then I come back and they're in the lead. I couldn't figure out how they did that until I heard them say they had gone for 3 points on the point after.

I found it entertaining. The rules are different enough to make it interesting. The talent level is a little uneven as you might expect in minor league sports. Bob Stoops was the only coach I recognized.

I like the fact that these guys are all trying to get to or back to the NFL. I watched the USFL last year and a couple of those guys were on NFL teams this season, so they know it's possible.
The USFL starts back in April.

Dwayne Johnson is part of the owners' group. It's been in the works for a couple of years.
It's just something different. Football purists may not care for it.

Yeah I watched it back then just out of curiosity.
It was basically the WWF entertainment model applied to a team sport.
It was mildly entertaining, but it didn't last long.

I haven't seen the newest version and probably won't since they are playing during hockey season.

I caught the tail end of one last night. It reminded me of the Chiefs win.

There was a minute and a half left. Seattle drove down and scored a touchdown. This put them up by one. They chose the 3 point option for the exra point meaning they try at the 10. They didn't make it. St. Louis then drove to field goal range and won it with a 50 yard field goal with 3 seconds left.
