I remember somewhere in the late Sixties or early Seventies the smog covered LA. I don't recall seeing that smog nowadays.

That's because this country made great strides in vehicle pollution and fossil fuel pollution reductions but you never hear a Democrat talking about that.  Now it's just EV's and windmills. This country is dying.

The first time I went to IMTS there was a brown haze over Chicago. It's not there anymore.

And cars are far more efficient than they were 50 years ago. I think that's a pretty well universally known fact regardless of your party affiliation.

That wasn't from cars, that was gun smoke. They have since outlawed guns and fixed that problem.  :shitfan:

Quote from: Tim Johnson on March 11, 2023, 05:21 AMSo there's no wind in LA?
Only in the City Council Chambers.

:coffee:

Seriously though, we have all kinds of wind. Being right next to the ocean, it's rare when the air is stagnant. All the pollution from LA comes to the inland empire valleys (where I live), then heavy onshore flow or Santa Ana winds come and blow it all away.

The air quality today is substantially better than when I was a kid. We used to have "Smog Alerts" on the regular. They are extraordinarily rare today. The air today is as clean as it's EVER gonna be. During COVID when everything was shut down... it STILL did not meet future standards. Hopefully I'll be outta this shithole by then.

There's definitely a lot of hot air from there.
