Everything changed on 1/6.

Yes, there is a slippery slope but the reality is this country is being destroyed by lies, disinformation, and conspiracy theories. The radicalization of the right is the most dangerous thing happening in the U.S.A. The President is central to this.

Places like Facebook gave people an opportunity to find other people with like minds and get radicalized. They could make plans to act on their radical beliefs. Not much different than how violent Muslims get together and plan acts of terror. Good for Facebook for cracking down on those groups. Twitter too.

Parler was very happy to try to get rich off this trend. Their whining about "free speech" was BS, what they were in it for was profit and damaging their country didn't stress them out at all. But they had to use the infrastructure of others to make it happen so I applaud the tech giants for doing what they can to squelch them.

Thats convenient....

Goes both ways, no? Russia collusion ad nauseum for 4 long years from a bogus Steele dossier? Impeachment trials from suspect evidences?

Both sides at fault.

Agree 01/06 was flat out wrong and Trump deserves blame. What about Chaz and the riots burning down buildings and destroying small businesses? That's on the left. That's on Antifa and BLM. And the left politicians didn't do jack chit stopping it.

Again (repeat), BOTH sides at fault.

Just like the peaceful protesters in Seattle, Portland, etc...

A few who were only there for the burning and looting gave the incorrect impression the whole group was doing the same.

There were ANTIFA and BLM supporters among those in Washington on Wednesday, because my sister and her husband actually talked to a few of them.

And I will take the opinion of someone who was ACTUALLY THERE over any media outlet.
Your portrayal of the crowd rushing from the Trump speech to the Capitol and breaching it is NOT the way it went.

A FEW troublemakers started knocking down barriers and actually entering the building, while the vast majority were there to simply be heard.

Funny how similar events receive polar opposite coverage in the media.

Bull - I was at some of the BLM rallies and you guys argued what I saw and witnessed.

People protesting in the streets, getting attacked by cops, arrested

vs.

People protesting the capitol, entering.. then getting attacked by cops.. kind of.

There are black people in San Diego?

It is funny how we haven't heard about people at the capitol having their faces caved in with tear gas canisters and rubber bullets.

Why?  I don't want anyone getting hurt, I want those who use unwarranted violence on others to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.  I see how you might confuse the two.

Good point, those officers weren't even charged for killing Taylor.

I don't use Twatter, FB, or insta.  I will say I don't think peoples posts should be regulated so much, if you're so easily offended or swayed by some shit people write, then you're small minded.
In general I think people should get the fuc off social media so much.
Damn, get on with your life and quit worrying about what might offend you.
You Will Never Sway Anyone's opinions or change their views....

Get off my lawn!!! LOL

Social media was the driving force to organize this summer's fiery, but mostly peaceful protests that resulted in over $2 billion in property damage and 15 deaths.

They didn't suddenly develop a conscience.

They just picked a side. :coffee:

All well and good except for their obvious bias against the right. How many times has Trump been called a fascist or a Nazi? Turns out, they should have talking about Facebook and Twitter.
And you know I'm  not a Trump fan.

Bias?

The "right" is a bunch of brainwashed terrorists who devour lies, propaganda, and conspiracy theories. Saying so isn't being biased.

Yes, I'm sure there is some of that on the left also but it's a staple of the "right."

And Trump is a fascist. Or at the least a wanna be fascist.

Quotefascism

noun
(sometimes initial capital letter) a governmental system led by a dictator having complete power, forcibly suppressing opposition and criticism, regimenting all industry, commerce, etc., and emphasizing an aggressive nationalism and often racism.

I'd say they were forced to pick a side.

I've been reading a lot of companies and individuals are pulling their support from Trump, the Republicans who voted to not ratify the election, and individuals who apparently encourage radicals to tear down the country. Those people storming the capitol are a big deal.

Hell no they don't have a conscience but they do know when changes in the country are going in a direction that isn't good for future business.

Maybe some of the executives are actually even a little patriotic. That sounds crazy to me too but maybe....
