Quote from: Jeff on May 19, 2023, 08:08 AMWell that's the parent's responsibility/choice, not the schools. The moment that schools start telling the kids to keep what their talking about from the parents, those teachers should be fired and never be allow to teach again.

I don't disagree with that.  It's not the schools responsibility for sure. It's the outrage that I wonder about. I remember the shit us kids talked about when I was that young and it was far worse than some of the things that we seem to worry about now.  Or at least it just wasn't talked about as much because social media?
I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

That's child abuse lol.
That would destroy that kid's social life.

I believe that the outrage is more over the pornographic shit in the libraries.
Now I'm all for porn, but I am against teaching it in the schools and/or hiding it from the parents, especially when it's a 6 year old child.

Has it always been there, or is this a new development?

"New" is relative. Last 5 years it has ramped up noticeably. There's always been a parent or two at nearly every school that attempts to weed out the "objectionable" material. Sometimes it's benign, but not always. I think "CRT" and Drag Queen Library time brought the magnifying glasses put and some stuff has been found as a result of that, which perhaps flew under the radar before.

Quote from: Newbeeee™ on May 19, 2023, 09:04 AM6 huh.....well, I remember at lunch time one school day, and there was quite a commotion of a load of kids running around the yard in a big group - I was 7 and my mate who was a year lower was at the front.
A teacher approached to calm it all down and see what was happening and then lit up dragging my mate by the ear inside to the heads office. Because my mate had decided to bring to school one of his Dad's "gentleman's magazine", that he'd found under his Dad's bed.... :hrhr:

In 3rd grade, there was this girl that I hated with a passion.
One day my bus was running late and I was in the classroom all by myself, I looked on the teacher's desk and this girl's assignment was sitting right there. I grabbed the nearest pencil that I saw and wrote in big bold letters on the paper "BITCH!"

Yeah somehow the teacher found out it was me who did that.  ;D

These days that kid would be sent to the office because the magazine didn't contain any trans people and would be considered transphobic.
