QuoteSome of the nutrients in animal products that are virtually non-existent or not bioavailable in plant foods include:

    Vitamin B12
    Omega-3 fatty acids
    Vitamin D3
    Iron

Any vegan who claims that these nutrients are not necessary for optimal health is either ignorant or lying.

Big pharma and their scientists - corrupt. Big gov agencies - corrupt and their scientists - corrupt.
Big AG/food and their scientists - pure and honest
Sounds reasonable to me.

YoDoug,
I know red meat everyday isn't exactly good for you, but why cut out fish?
Non-fried fish is good for you and I doubt many doctors would disagree.

Fish is marginally better than red meat, but it is still not without it's health risks. Below is a study that associates higher fish consumption with higher risk of type 2 diabetes. Also, there is a lot of data coming out about mercury, metals, and micro-plastics found in fish.

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/24089611/

You have to remember, beef, poultry, pork, fish, and dairy industries have millions of dollars to spend and entire organizations lobbying on their behalf. This is the info that finds it's way to doctors. The current state of food science and the health impacts of consuming animal products is similar to smoking in the 80's and 90's. The truth is known and the multi-billion dollar industries are fighting to suppress and influence the data in their favor. The main difference is they have learned from what went down with tobacco. Phillip Morris, one of the largest tobacco companies that lost billions when the truth started to turn against them, is the owner of Kraft foods, who one of the largest foods companies in the world. You can bet they have applied every thing they learned from the hit to the tobacco profits.

Del.

Never in my life have I heard of a health issue because a person ate too much fish.

We had a Chinese guy who worked here for years. This guy ate some of the stinkiest food ever. All of it had some kind of sea food in it. He was in his 60's and looked like he was 40. I just assumed that it was due to that nasty diet of his.

It used to be that you were advised against eating more than a certain amount of some fish species because of mercury in the fish from the environment.

Used to be those mercury warnings were always fresh water fish and we were told ocean fish was fine. Now they are issuing warnings over micro-plastics in ocean fish.
