For me it works FANTASTIC!  I live in a rural area, and have been using HughesNet for the last 3+ years.  It is the WORST internet I have ever had.  (IMHO)

I was finally able to get Starlink.  While using HughesNet I wasn't able to watch any streaming videos.  Youtube Videos I had to watch on like 480p or less, and still had to toggle watching, waiting for streaming, etc.  I also have a Amazon Firestick which I purchased a few years ago, that I wasn't able to use.

Long story Short...  All that is possible with Starlink.  I'm a HAPPY CAMPER NOW. ;)

Sorry about that rant kccadcam.. I know your posting was about a different point..

Does starlink have a data cap?
I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

NO Data caps...

My HughesNet was 30 GB a month + what they call a "BONUS ZONE" from 2AM - 8AM of 50 GB

My wife's Zoom meetings once a week would use up are data in less than 15 days....

I can get Gb speed fiber installed at my house for less upfront cash and lower monthly than starlink. If I lived rurally and couldn't get decent internet I would consider it, but not at current prices/speeds.

It works by putting Apple on notice that if they attempt to silence Elon's Twitter he will make them irrelevant.

What are you waiting for? I'd jump at the chance to get Fiber Interwebs.

I don't need it. I have 100m speed which is fine for the streaming and basic internet we do. If I worked from home regularly I would get it as TopSolid does not do well on VPN without a really fast connection. For the one or two times a month I work from home now I just lock my work computer but leave it on everyday so I can remote in from my home computer. That works fine. Both of my adult sons that live at home say they would pay for the fiber for gaming, but my opinion is if they have money to burn for gaming they can move out!

we track ISS on ham, pretty interesting. will have to dig in to how they deal with dopler shift in frequency but am sure they have a better handle on it than I. cool contacts going on when it passes us.
my company is currently making parts for this as usual over engineered but cool parts all the same.

I've got fiber. 1GB up and down. It's only $80/mo. Worth EVERY penny.
