So what was it? he's got a few days left - any speculation about what it would have been?

I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

That was how I felt the first week or two on a vegan diet. I'm used to it now, but that first week I considered installing a seat belt on the toilet!

I don't know what Trump's plan was.  But I've got some ideas of my own.  And they all center around knowing ahead of time what the cost of a procedure will be.  I find that to be the most frustrating thing about medicine.

Here are some of my ideas:

1) There should be 1 bill.  all work being done in a hospital should be billed through the hospital alone.  Not the surgeon, the radiologist, the anesthesiologist, or any other ologist. we should just pay the hospital.  The hospital should pay the other people.  my wife had weight loss surgery, insurance didn't cover it.  And we knew 2 months ahead of time what that cost would be and they told us the cost was based on 1 overnight stay at the hospital and if she need 2 nights the cost would still be the same.  It was so simple.

2) prices for services should be posted on the wall.  That's not as ridiculous as it sounds.  This summer I need 3 stitches in a finger. A hospital should know ahead of time what something simple like stitches will cost, or what Xray's will cost. After the stitches were done on my finger, a lady came in and said that my bill would be  $450 and asked if I"d like to make payments or pay in full.  I decided to pay in full.  1 month later I received a bill for $1200 more.  noting that the first payment I made was only an estimate, but now they needed more. It felt like extortion.  Of course there are some things that are more complicated, and those things would need an estimate.  But the simple things should have the prices posted. And the insurance should pay those posted prices.  that's it.

Technically Trump was in support of the "skinny" Obamacare repeal act that the senate tried to pass until Benedict McCain voted no just as a last FU to Trump. Link has a breakdown of what was in that bill. After that failed Trump had hinted that he was going to wait until there was a more favorable senate/house to bring up any health care wishes.

That's the best answer so far Doug - why couldn't he actually say, instead of 'hinting' and 'technically'
