Who else could take the slings and arrows of the state apparatus. This has gone soooo much further than what the deep state and media cronies did to the other wildly popular, at the time, republican Nixon.

just to play devil's advocate for a sec, Hitler would not have had to visit Auschwitz to be held responsible for it.

Yup, that crazy lib guy that ran down a protestor with his car, killing him, got 5 years. People that engaged in no violence, but merely walked through the capital building and took selfies are getting longer sentences.
