Thought I was talking to Dwight Schrute for a minute there...

There ain't many critters that can overpower a grizzly bear, so in a straight up 1 on 1 I'd take the grizz.

Now 2 or more lions, that would be a different story.
They are highly skilled pack hunters that can overpower and take down much larger, stronger prey by simply attacking from several different angles at once and just wearing their prey down.

Yeah, but is that because deep down you didn't want to kill the barn cat.  I would have to imagine if you wanted the cat dead, a quick twist of it's head and it'd be done.  However, I'd have to say that a full grown lion and Grizzly in a true fight to the death would be more equal competitors.  I think I would probably go with the Grizzly, but I do think it'd be close and depending on lucky mortal blows could go either way.
