Been seeing the same here...

Don't have any specifics but considering where we are, ransomware is a logical guess.

Our local supplier, Missouri Tools, was hacked at the same time as the other hackings took place. Still not up and going yet.

I've read that a lot of companies are moving to use Asp.Net sites after ransomware attacks,
we've been migrating some of our services to asp.net web apps at TheeByte,
it's actually very easy to build sites that way, and very secure..

The amount of attacks on our site is crazy

This site was having issues on bluehost as well. We haven't had near as many problems since we moved.

Bluehost is not bad, I think we've experienced about like 12 hrs of down time in 3 years because of server issues, it gets more expensive after the first 3 years like u said tho

This site was experiencing a lot of interruptions in the last year. It's probably more noticeable since it's a forum and there is always someone lurking.

Yes, it does (bluehost) get more expensive and their customer support has gotten worse.  That combination is what made me move.

I get crazy traffic too, wp is just a lot more stable, but it has so many flaws thats why we are migrating to a combination of asp.net and wp, probably going to move away from wp

The issues we were having were due to the instability of the shared host that BH had us on. I'm not sure why it was so bad. I spent more time trying to talk to support than it was worth. They never gave a good answer but always acknowledged that there was an issue on that server.

Are you going to develop your own site?

Yeah, I made one or two small sites already,
with asp.net its easy for me, I even made some rudimentary forums and stuff,
there are issues with phpbb and bluehost i think, like u said, shared hosting
