Pizza Hut lays off 1200 delivery drivers

Two Pizza Hut operators in California are eliminating their in-house delivery services at hundreds of stores, resulting in more than 1,200 driver layoffs, according to federal-employment notices reviewed by Business Insider.

The layoffs, effective throughout February, affect Pizza Hut delivery drivers across California, including at Sacramento, Palm Springs, and Los Angeles locations. The Pizza Hut franchisees are reducing staff as fast-food chains in the state brace for a new law that increases worker pay to $20 an hour in April.

Fast food and sit down restaurant meals are already expensive enough to be painful.
I haven't been to a Pizza Hut in 40 years so I have no idea how much prices have gone up.
Prices at the local taco place have doubled since Bidenomics arrived.
This new law will only make matters worse.

Haven't been there since the mid 90's but it used to be great!
It's hard to find a good pizza in my area unless all you want is Detroit style deep dish which I'm so burnt out on I can't stand it.
Gimme the old school italian style crust. Every place seems to have gone the cheap route when it comes to dough these days.

Living in the area where I grew up, I was utterly amazed that places like Dominos managed a foothold..

To most people in the area, the "Valley"....outside of going into the North End in Boston, if you wanted good food, that's where you were.

Why do I like the food I like? It has everything to do with my parents being good cooks and having access to awesome food all over the area.  Sadly, many of those places from my youth are gone, a couple still exist and I still drive 30-40 miles to get food occasionally....some others sprang up in their demise.

They popped up everywhere from their 30 minute delivery guarantee which was unheard of at that time. And their pizza was good. Now it's ass, at least the one by me is. They've changed owners 3 times in the last 5 years and still can't make a good pie.
Every place now is skimping on quality ingredients and raising prices. Not a good business strategy.
