I've done that many times but never with a blue one.
Just need to make sure your coolant lines are done drippin or you're ruin your Sharpie lol.

I used to do that all the time at one job. We did a lot of Blanchard ground gear box plates of varying size. I used to run a quick marker program to mark the machine table to know where to put all of the riser blocks so I wouldn't drill or mill through them.
