We've not been able to park in a garage since probably 1998 if I had to guess. Here in Utah... I'm just grateful to be out of that crime infested democrat riddled shithole Kommieforniastan.

We had a dusting of snow and some ice starting on Monday.  The whole area has basically been shut down all week.  I do live on a small mountain, so getting off it was near impossible - Icey roads.  My wife and I work on a military base, it's been closed all week.

It's so bad in The People's Republik of Kommieforniastan that we traded sunshine for snow shovels.

Less than 30 miles west of here they got 32" of snow yesterday. We got 6".

When that band finally shifted east yesterday afternoon, I watched it come in from the dining room window. It was like a white wall. For a minute, it was snowing like holy hell in the back yard and clear and sunny in the front.

Two days ago I would say we almost got an inch of dry snow. 6:00 a.m. 32 degrees.

So being the ever-chivalrous Incog that I am.

I went out and swept off my car and every single Females car on my side of the complex.

and 2 of the single ladies in front. :D

Then I swept off their porches. ;)

Quote from: YoDoug on January 17, 2024, 07:54 AMOut of curiosity, do you feel the same about high temps. I feel like people are biased towards one or the other. People will say you can get used to extreme cold or that you can get used to extreme heat, but rarely its seems they will acknowledge both.

Being an old fart living up here in Vermont with a B&B I know or have met plenty of snowbirds (pussies) and older people who have moved to warmer climes (bigger pussies). I can't tell you how many time I've heard these folks say that after a year or so of living in the South that they just can't take the cold anymore, that their blood has thinned.

Oddly enough I have also met a few who have moved back to Vermont after retiring, so I guess that it is not a universal thing. Personally, hot weather is not for me. I will often wake up in the night and have to throw off everything but a sheet, and we keep the nighttime temps around 65°.

For me the hot weather never really bothered me that much. When I was a bit heavier and out of shape I didn't like it too hot, but now that I am thinner and in better shape I would prefer heat over cold.

This winter has been really mild in MN. However, with my job having me in south FL about a third of the time it is getting hard to keep going back and forth. Two weeks ago when I left FL it 80. The next day I had to snow blow my driveway at -10 degrees. I normally don't wear a jacket until it gets to teens or colder, but this year with the travel it has forced me to dress more appropriately for the weather.

Years ago when I fished all the time I was getting in my boat that was moored at the dock overnight. It was an early spring morning and the temperature had dropped into the 30's. I only had shorts and T shirt on. 2 old men beside me were in their boat looked at me and said" I'm putting on every piece of clothes I have and you're wearing shorts" His buddy said " He's not the pussy we are". Running down the lake in the boat I couldn't feel my hands or face. 😂

It's warmed up quite a bit here, in the 40s or there abouts. We've had a lot of fog. I don't like hot weather. I learned during this last cold spell that if I dress properly the cold, even below zero, is easier for me to mitigate.

Well i am sitting here with shorts and T shirt on sweating.

Nice days here ATM.  Daytime average around 82F  Nights are getting down to around 59F.
We have had a very wet summer here rainfall wise.

Not many days around the 100F this year like usual.
