We don't have stupid accents, the rest of the country does

And I base that purely on their stupid accents, nothing else.

You'd hate my accent then.

You wouldn't be able to understand some of my relatives.

Quote from: gcode on January 15, 2024, 11:31 AMWhen I lived in Colorado I rolled with 2 sandbags in the trunk of my Mustang.

I've been driving my Mustang around in this weather. My snow car won't start. The day it snowed the most last week, I was driving to work. I was coming in late. I thought I'd let Darwin thin the traffic before venturing out. The roads were covered in ice. Several times on my way in I would just lose traction. It was just like hydroplaning. I was able to keep it on the road but I was glad traffic had thinned out.

Years ago I had a 1977 Ford Thunderbird. That car was a death trap on snow.

Radial tires turned my Pinto into a snow plow. The good old days.

When I was born in 1972, we were a one car family. The car was a 1969 Chevelle SS. It had the 375HP, 396 and a Muncie rock crusher 4 speed manual. Dad did have a set of studded snow tires for the rear.

Every day mom, dad, and me would load up at 5am, take dad to work, then mom and me would go home, on errands, whatever. We'd then load up and pick up dad after work.

We live in a very rural area where when it snows, it drifts. And if you're lucky, the county might plow the road before your evening commute.

That woman who drove me around, as a newborn baby, in that Chevelle SS now calls me and asks me to grab her this or that from the store every time it looks like it might snow. Even though she now drives an AWD Lexus SUV with a set of fuckin snow tires.

That car would be worth some serious $$$ today

My first car in high school was a 72 Chevelle. In the winter I swapped the Crager's for some junk yard steel wheels with Town and Country SnowBiter tires and threw a few 50lb bags of sand in the trunk. It was one of the best cars I ever drove in the snow. The next best car is the 2012 Subi Impreza that my son currently drives. That thing is a freaking snowmobile.

Mine also idled at like 5000 RPM so at stop lights and pushing brakes it just wanted to do doughnuts.

It was however cool with its factory 8 track player.

The best vehicle I had for the snow was a 2003 Grand Cherokee. Loved that thing.
