You forgot to add-
"Not that there's anything wrong with that...."

So, Mr. Smit, completely off topic.
I've tried that Indian place a couple of times. The last time I tried lamb curry. It may be just me, but it doesn't seem to matter what protein is used, they all end up tasting the same. The curries are different but the meat tastes the same. Except maybe butter chicken.

The curries I see have a base of onion, tomato, garlic, ginger, cumin, cardiman, and other spices too. Pretty powerful stuff.

Lamb curry and goat curry are very similar. The spices are strong enough to maybe hide the "lamb" flavor that you either love or hate, at least to a degree. The texture between lamb and goat is similar. I think in a more subtly spiced dish you might taste a bigger difference. Lamb and goat cooked in a spinach sauce (saag) is different. At least to me.
Also to me there is a big difference between goat and lamb, and chicken and pork.

Butter chicken is something else entirely. 😋

Southern Indian cooking has a lot more seafood and coconut based food.

Quote from: neurosis on January 09, 2024, 08:07 AMThe part of the last few days of discussion that I can't agree with, is that people in the Capitol building weren't breaking the law or that they were just "sight seeing".

I'm not sure who said that, but it certainly wasn't me.
I have been adament about the double standard after the fact.

A small percentage of both J6 and BLM protesters crossed the line into violence, yet both groups were treated vastly differently by the US media and politicians.

If I'm out with you and you decide to break in to someone's house and I go in to the house with you, even though I'm not responsible for your actions, I am just as culpable as you.
Not all people in the building were breaking the law. Many were, no question. I don't think that is in dispute.

The difference between going into a "house" (which IS Private Property) as you alluded to and going into The US Capitol is the US Capitol is a PUBLIC building.

During normal office hours it IS open to the public. I know, I've been there. Several times. I've even been to an old Congressman's Office. I've sat in the House of Representative's Chamber gallery while it was in session. We The People have a legal right to be in that building.

Just some trivia, Does anybody remember this story:
https://rollcall.com/2004/02/27/a-singular-historic-day-members-recall-54-shooting/

Puerto Rican Nationals broke into the capital and started shooting at congress.

When I was 18, I got a tour of the capital and got to go on the floor of the House. I saw the bullet hole in the desk and asked our tour guide what that was from and I was shocked when he told me that story, I had never heard it before.

4 years prior, Puerto Rican Nationals tried to kill Truman.

My wife is East Indian. She moved to Canada when she was quite young so she's very western but her family was raised more in India. I'm quite familiar with Indian foods, especially Northern India.

If you were in the building that day, you were breaking the law.

To go in to the Capitol you're required to go in through the visitors center and be screened. Not a single one of the people inside did that.  Also, the Capitol was closed to the public that day.

They have a list of approved items that you can bring in to the Capitol on their website.  I didn't see spear on that list.

I figure this has gone on long enough that we can start telling jokes?  :D

And that was part of the reason for the protest!

The protesters demanded to be heard IN THE PEOPLES' HOUSE!

To borrow CNN's verbage about the Milwaukee riots, the J6 protest was "mostly peaceful".

One of my comments earlier in the thread was exactly that.  This was the rights version of a "mostly peaceful protest".
