We have a butt in oven. Cooked at 450 for 30 minutes and then to 300.

Thats a lot! Cut it in half ,Drop it in the crock pot . Cover with peeled Quartered Potatoes. 1/4 " slice one full onion. Put on Top.
Two cans cream of Mushroom soup. One can water. Lawrys Seasoned salt. Garlic Powder, Onion powder. Coarse ground Black pepper and Salt. 10 Shakes each. Cover on High. Don't touch it. Don't even Peek. Wake up tomorrow put it on Low. Grands Flaky Biscuits. Thank me tomorrow Night.

Nothing Fancy. But when your eyes Roll Back say "Thanks Incog"

Why does your wife let you Shop??

When you are done you will still have two days of Leftovers.

Pork roast Sammiches for work. Yum

Or Grill the Pork for Carnitas Tacos.

Or you can Listen to these Guys and Buy a $2000 dollar smoker and Chase French seasonings and get your wife to prep it.
And Shoot a Moose all while Drinking $300 a shot Bourbon.
And Listening to Neuro's Insane Music Choices.

I would rather the oven, so that the fat/skin crisps up a bit. But if you are looking for a super moist pulled pork, I'd go the crock pot route.

Wife cooked the butt on a rack setting in a pan with some water in it. Charred on outside and tastes awesome

In the interest of keeping the diversity of opinions that we respect so much here at fleemastercam, I'll give my thoughts on how to cook a pork shoulder. Step one, throw the pork shoulder in the garbage. Step two, eat some veggies. Now when you throw it in the garbage you will feel a sting over the money you spent being lost, but in the long run you will save an infinite amount more money on healthcare costs when you switch to a healthy plant based diet. You're welcome!
