I'll go one step further, transgender care should not be a covered health insurance procedure.

A guy I train BJJ with was telling me he was diagnosed with hypogonadism, essentially age induced low T. The treatments were like $400/mo. He inquired with his insurance. His insurance would cover hormone therapy for transgender people at nearly 100% but wouldn't cover his actually medically diagnosed treatment. They said it was elective and not needed.

It's pretty unusual for Testosterone treatment not to be covered by insurance if it comes with a diagnosis.  Makes me wonder who insures this guy.

I do know a guy who tried to get testosterone treatment without a diagnosis (other than aging) and I don't think they covered him.

All he probably has to do is identify as a trans to the doctor and he'll get free shit.
